Say Hello

I am the president of Fisheries Technology Associates in Fort Collins, Colorado. I created the company in 1982 after receiving my education in zoology and fisheries science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and after a six-year career in aquaculture and fisheries science research. I have worked with Dr. Loren Cordain as a volunteer—as an example, creating the first web site for The Paleo Diet—since 2002.

Meet The Expert

What makes you an expert on The Paleo Diet?

I have been a devotee of The Paleo Diet since the publication of Loren’s first book in 2002. Since then, I have “inhaled” as much paleo-related material and literature as I can.

Describe the impact The Paleo Diet has had on your  life?

This was a whole new way for me to view food and its relation to the human condition. The paradigm shift in my thinking about food was enormous!

What does “healthy living” mean to you? And what, on the other hand, is your favorite "cheat" food?

For me, healthy living means giving my body what it needs to optimize its functions. The Paleo Diet checks all of those boxes. I admit to being a chocoholic. So, a few cocoa nibs now and then as a treat take care of that craving.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not writing for The Paleo Diet?

I operate my own fisheries and aquaculture consulting company with 28 other associates. I have been blessed to pursue my passion academically and professionally for 44 years. Why retire? I get paid to travel the world.
